Active Centres

Active Centres aims to increase participation and usage at community centres, through the provision of an enhanced quality sport and recreation service. SSRP supports Community Centre’s committees to develop an action plan linked to the resources and skills they have available. The activities of each Community Centre will depend on each community’s needs and characteristics, Community priorities at the time, the availability of resources – money, people, facilities and equipment, and the existence and work of other service providers. Community Centres who have received support to date include Skreen Dromard Community Centre, St. Brigid’s Hall, Gurteen Community Centre, Bunninadden Community Centre and Kilmactigue Community Centre. Each action plan address;

• Facility and management planning,

• Sports facility operation and maintenance,

• Programming and scheduling,

• Marketing facilities/Programmes

• Health and Safety.

• Education and Training of volunteers
