The 6 schools involved include: Mercy Primary School, Ransboro NS, St Josephs School, St Cecilias School, St Brendans NS and Collooney NS.
The children involved in the programme participated in a school-based programme delivered by qualified Athletics coaches and practice a variety of running, jumping and throwing activities designed to develop their overall athletic ability.
The 10-week coaching programme culminates in an Xcessible Indoor Athletics Festival where every child has the opportunity to participate in 8 events:
Following this a pathway of participation has been established with Sligo AC to enable children who would like to continue participating in the sport of Athletics to do so through the local club.
