Tubbercurry GAA Healthy Club – Stronger for Longer
SSRP are delighted to partner with Tubbercurry GAA Healthy Club to deliver Stronger for Longer in South Sligo. SSRP developed this 8 week strength and power based exercise programme for 50yrs plus under the Healthy Ireland LCDC programme administered through Sligo County Council. The aim of the programme is to increase opportunities for people over the age of 50 to be more physically active, and specifically to encourage them to participate in strength and conditioning based exercise.

Increasing the number of people who are healthy at all stages of life is a key focus for the SSRP and the programme offers a fun, accessible opportunity for older adults to be physically active and to build strength. In addition to this weekly exercise programme, we are also offering additional workshops on Nutrition and Mindfulness to offer a holistic approach considering all parts of our life, our physical body, our emotional wellbeing and our mental health. This mind-body and holistic view means taking care of all aspects of yourself and making good healthy decisions from a well-rounded perspective.

Programme Schedule
Stronger for Longer Programme will run every Wednesday starting from the 20th September from 10.30am-11.30am for women, and 11.30am-12.30pm for men. Our additional workshops are running on Mondays with Nutritional Talks with Siobhan O’Farrell held on Monday 25th September and Monday 23rd October, 10.30-11.30am, and Mindfulness Sessions with Ted Kelly on Monday 9th October and Monday 6th November, 10.30-11.30am.
