2025 Age and Opportunity Active National Grant and Workshop
Many groups are currently organising physical activity/active recreation programmes for their members and Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership (SSRP) aim to continue our support to local groups facilitating older adults to be more physically active.
The Go for Life programme is an Age & Opportunity initiative funded by Sport Ireland. The programme aims to promote greater participation by older adults in recreational sport and physical activity. The 2025 Go for Life National Grant Scheme is now open for applications.
If your club/group/community centre would like to purchase equipment or explore a physical activity/exercise programme aimed at older adults, you should apply for this grant scheme before the closing date (see below).
If you have not already received an application form from Age & Opportunity, you can request a hard copy by phoning SSRP on 071 9161511 or you can download one from the SSRP website www.sligosportandrecreation.ie
Completed hard copies of the application forms can be returned directly to:

Workshop Information:
Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership are running a workshop which will provide assistance to clubs/groups/community centres in filling out the application form and answering any queries.
The workshop is organised for the following date: –
Workshop Date: Thursday 20th February 2025
Workshop Time: 2.30pm-4.30pm
Workshop Venue: Sligo Southern Hotel, Strandhill Road, Sligo (Connaught Suite) (Tea/Coffee on arrival)
If your group require support in filling out the application, I suggest that one or two people from your club/group/community centre come along to the workshop.
