A weeklong festival of cycling is taking place in Sligo as part of National Bike Week which commences on Saturday 14th May and is continuing throughout the week until Sunday 22nd May. Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that’s great about bikes and cycling. There are events for every age and ability including adult beginner cycling lessons, leisure cycles, peddle to paddle sessions, mountain biking and much more taking place across County Sligo over the week. Among the highlight events is the Pedal Parade at 12noon from Stephen Street Carpark followed by a festival of Cycle Fun on O’Connell Street between 12.30 and 3.30pm on Sunday 15th May and Bike Orienteering on Sunday 22nd May in Cleveragh Park. Locally the event is co-ordinated by Sligo County Council in partnership with Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership and supported by many cycling clubs and community organisations.
