Sligo Rowing Club
With the support of SSRP, Irish Rowing Union and Sligo Borough Council the Sligo Rowing Club was established in 2006.
Club development support and grant aid assistance was provided by SSRP. The club facilitates Olympic style rowing and provides opportunities for senior and junior oars people to participate in the sport which is facilitated by a team of coaches. The club competes in national events annually and hosts a ‘Head of the River’ event each Spring. The club is located along the Garavogue River at Doorly Park.
In 2017 Sligo Rowing Club established a Social Rowing section in their club, this is open to leisure rowers over 18 years of age.
