Olympic Handball Coaching Course – Level 0 (Intro)
Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership is delighted to partner with Irish Olympic Handball Association to run an Olympic Handball coaching course, Level 0 (Intro) in Sligo.
This is a 6-hour theory and practical course taking place at Sligo Regional Sports Centre, suitable for teachers / coaches.
- Date: 8th March
- Time: 9.30am to 3.30pm
- Location: Sligo Regional Sports Centre, Sligo
- Cost: €50 (€40 discount available to teachers and SSRP Coaches)
The course content will include:
Theory (3-hour teacher course)
- Brief history of handball
- Role of a teacher/coach
- Rules of the game – refereeing, teams, courts
Practical
- Technique – pass, reception, jumping, shooting, steps
- Refereeing – hand signs, positioning
- Introduction to games
Attendees will receive a certificate and resources following completion of the course. This course is suitable for leaders / teachers / coaches and valued at €50 per person.
