(Two Year Fixed Term Contract of Employment)
This role of Outdoor Recreation Officer is central to the realisation of ‘Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors’, the National Outdoor Recreation Strategy, and is key to co-ordinating its successful implementation at a county level. This strategic post will require the officer to work in partnership with relevant statutory bodies and stakeholders in the outdoor sector, with the ultimate aim of increasing the number of people active in the outdoors while ensuring that best practice is implemented

Join the IMRA Women’s Untimed Trail Series this April – Entries opens 20th March
– Special Projects Participation Grant Scheme 2025 –
Applications are invited from sports clubs/sporting organisations which have as their central focus increasing participation in sport and physical activity in County Sligo.
Assistance is available in respect of projects that facilitate new club development initiatives or additional sports programming/ events that promote increased opportunities for key SSRP target groups. The scheme will not fund ongoing club running costs or projects of a capital nature.
Closing date for applications is 12 noon, Friday 14th March 2025

- Project planning/ delivery to take place between 1st February 2025 and 30th September 2025.
- Funding allocations for eligible applications is limited and is likely to range from €250 to €700.
- 70% of the grant allocation will be paid in advance with the final 30% paid upon completion of project report and submission of evidence of expenditure. Please retain all receipts/evidence of expenditure for submission with the project report.
NOTE: The application process is via an online application form and is to be completed in one sitting; please have your clubs membership profile (M, F, U18, Disability) and all data regarding your planned initiative to hand before commencing.
